Review: Painter of Stars

Painter of Stars
Painter of Stars by Wang Yuan
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

A household robot, designed to do menial tasks, discovers its true calling: as an artist. A remarkable rise in fortunes ensues, as getting a ‘star’ tattooed on one’s body by the robot becomes a worldwide trend, and a symbol for global peace. But after every rise must come a fall…

The piece felt like it was meant to be imbued with heavy meaning; as things all come full circle… but it just somehow missed the mark, for me.
