The Sound of Salt and Sea
The Sound of Salt and Sea by Kat Howard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ancient folktales and mythology with a strong sense of the macabre infuse this supernatural tale.

On a remote island, a village takes it for granted that once a year, the dead return to visit their former loved ones. Ritual and tradition encircle this day; bells and rosemary for guidance and remembrance… But while the dead may have been loved, they are still the dead, and ghosts must be treated with caution. Every year, there are those who do not wish to peacefully return, and to handle those, it’s necessary to bridle the wild bone horses from the sea…

A bit of a dark Celtic feel to this one. Very nice.
